The Name
George Jones began sewing bags in his basement and selling them out of the trunk of his cab. Today, Fifty years and more than a million bags later, Jones Sports Company is finally admitting what everyone's really known all along. There never was more than one sport at Jones Sports. There was always just one. Golf. We not only continue to carry the name of our founder, we also continue to bring his innovative vision to every bag we make. From our patented stand system that remains the gold standard for stand bags, to every seam, stitch, strap and pocket we make-Jones bags are the definition of form following function. No fluff, no hype. The only thing missing from our bags is your name and we'll put that there too. At Jones Golf Bags we never have to worry about keeping up with the Joneses, because we are the Joneses.
The Heritage
The Jones Sports Company. Who could have known then the name now synonymous with quality and customized golf bags, would begin with a 40-year-old taxi driver selling hand-crafted bags out of the trunk of his cab? Who could have known? George Jones, that’s who. He was able to take nothing more then an entrepreneurial spirit, a love for the game and a trunk full of product and turn it into a company and a bag that continues to carry his name to this day. And more importantly, the bag that carried his name also carried yours. That’s why you carry a Jones. Through high school, college, and beyond, the bag that bore your name, alma mater or club name always told the world exactly who you were. You knew then, like the generations that would follow know now, that anyone who golfed could carry a bag, but only golfers carried a Jones.
